About the Journal
The Journal of Applied Philosophy of Education (JOAPOE) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to rethinking the role of philosophy in education. It provides a platform for theoretical, historical, and practice-oriented contributions that explore the ethical, pedagogical, and institutional dimensions of educational life. The journal particularly welcomes work that bridges the persistent divide between theory and practice, and that engages philosophy as a situated, dialogical, and socially responsive practice.
JOAPOE encourages submissions on themes such as epistemic responsibility, dialogical pedagogy, and institutional engagement, alongside broader debates in educational philosophy, curriculum, and policy. Articles may draw from diverse philosophical traditions and global contexts, with special attention to under-resourced, inequitable, or politically unstable educational settings where philosophy can serve as a transformative and ethically committed force.
By publishing rigorous research and fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, the journal aims to reintegrate philosophy into the everyday practices of schools, faculties, and communities, advancing both critical reflection and practical renewal in contemporary education.
